character
Mouri ShinMouri Shin [ 毛利 伸 ] is a character from the anime series Yoroiden Samurai Troopers [ 鎧伝サムライトルーパー ]. He wears the light blue armor called Suiko [ 水滸 ] and calls upon the attribute of faith/trust [ 信 ] as his guiding force.

Of the five Samurai Troopers, Shin is the most mild-mannered, and prefers not to do battle if there is an alternate solution, possessing a kind, gentle, almost maternal nature. He is very protective of the waters and of the creatures that live therein.

More stats on Shin can be found at his information page over at Theria-san's YST site.

His voice is done by actor Sasaki Nozomu [ 佐々木 望 ].

series
Yoroiden Samurai Troopers is a 39-episode long anime series with 3 OVAs ("movies") approximating an additional 11 episodes, that aired in Japan from late April 1988 to March of 1989.

The main plot features five teenage boys who inherit the power to don mystical samurai armor. They have never met before and their personalities -- and tempers -- differ hugely, but it is their job to stop the powerful demon emperor Arago from taking over the human world and annexing it to his demon realm. They gradually grow as a team and as individuals in order to accomplish their goal, learning many things about themselves, their armors, their enemies, and each other in the process.

There are also four CD dramas (Kourin Den, Suiko Den, Tenkuu Den, and Tsuki), five OSTs (Gun Rou Hen, I Jin Hen, Sei Ran Hen, Kikoutei Densetsu, Hana), three vocal-only albums (Kimi wo Nemurasenai, Best Friends, Kaze) and their corresponding karaoke albums, one piano-version album (Tori), some five or so cassette drama shorts and funnies, a short two-volume manga version, and a manga sequel featuring a new, younger set of yoroi-bearers which include the little tagalong boy Jun ("Yuli") as the new wearer of Rekka ("Wildfire"), not to mention any number of doujinshi (professional fan comics).

english dub
Aired as Ronin Warriors for the first time sometime in the mid-90s and again on Cartoon Network around 1999-2000, it was one of the first anime series for many of the U.S. anime fans growing up in the early 90s (like me!), even previous to the likes of Dragonball and Sailor Moon. Shin's dub name is "Cye", and his English-accented voice is done by actor Michael Donovan (who, consequently, was also the voice actor for Sage).

site
Since Shin's armor, Suiko, translates literally to "water margin", I decided to re-translate it into something more comfortable, and what I assume would be closer to its intended meaning: shoreline. However, seeing as this wasn't quite so interesting for a website title, nor did it recall the original subject matter [i.e. suiko = water margin], I made another adjustment, giving us the site's final title, "water's edge".
